This paper explores the ethical considerations of war photography as it intersects with the internet, and examines the power of visual narratives to shape public discourse, influence collective consciousness, and transcend traditional boundaries. It examines the ethical implications of displaying and disseminating graphic content, the potential for misuse and manipulation, and the responsibility for reporting and representing victims of conflict. It examines the different effects that images of war have on audiences, and differentiates between “worthy” and “unworthy” victims as determined by factors such as race, nationality, or socio-economic status. It serves as a critical examination of media representation and its influence on biases and power structures.
